The album has been mixed with higher dymanic range than is typical for most new recordings to make the loud sections really pop. Headphones / hi-fi recommended!

I'm Going Out was written, performed and recorded by Ben Male at home in the summer of 2025. All ambient sounds were captured especially for the album in and around the city of Norwich, UK. The album artworks are a selection of shots from a full canvas inspired by the album, created by Karol Male-Clewley.

Well, it's official! My upcoming single, Passer By, will be with you 31/10/2025. 

Very excited for the release of this one! It's the first of a few from my next album, which will be available in the first half of 2026.

Hello all! It's been a hot minute since my last update, so please enjoy this special bumper edition. There is unfortunately no toy to collect or free CD though, sorry about that.

It's been a super busy summer finishing up the next album, more on that in a bit - but I'm happy to report that it's more or less done, with my first new singles coming Oct 31st and Nov 28th this year! Very excited to share those with you. 

To top off a busy few months, and with absolutely perfect timing, the lovely Angelle Joseph from BBC Introducing in Suffolk & Norfolk reached out to me and invited me along to record some live sessions. As I type this I'm fresh back from the studio, I had a really great time. Thanks to all of you for the opportunity, I'm so glad you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

I did three tracks along with an interview, two of which are from the upcoming album and have yet to be released!

The broadcast date is currently TBC, but I'll be sure to update you when I have the details so you don't miss your chance to hear the new ones, assuming this goes out before the new tracks do!

In other news, I've made some improvements to benmale.co.uk/hello this week!

In an ever changing online landscape, I've always been keen to keep anything you could ever need available via my website in one place, rather than scattered all over the internet.

Traditional websites, however, leave very little room for everyone to get involved and have their say - modern social media is also lacking this in it's current form, so I'm hoping the new benmale/hello can be our new hangout space. 

One of the most important parts of doing this is talking to all of you - something which I used to love and have very little opportunity to do now online, so I'm hoping that as more of you start listening and get involved that this will fix that! 

There is a board for all releases, past and present, a general discussion board which I'll check in on regularly, a live chat room called Shoutbox available in desktop mode on all pages and for now, a Please Read welcome board explaining what on earth this 2009 era forum is doing on my website. 

I've been quietly working away in the background since my last show on my next album, currently untitled, and am pleased to report that it is more or less finished! 

I'll have more details to share soon, including track names, run time etc - but for now, you an expect the first singles on the 31st Oct and 28th Nov.

I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who was there. It was nice not only to be supported by you all coming out to see me after so long, but also to hear that you all had such a wonderful evening. 

Live shows aren't just about the music, they're about community and feeling and sharing that experiece, and I felt that so strongly whilst performing for you all yesterday. I am overjoyed that you felt it, too.

The Green Studio is booked out for a week in July where I'll be doing some bits, and prior to that I'll be in on the 13th of May recording some live sessions which I'm very much looking forward to sharing with you. My good friend Conor has excitingly aquired a real piano to add to his repetoir of instruments at the studio, I can't wait to have a play. More to announce on that soon!

Hello all! I've been giving the website a good makeover over the past couple of days in preperation for the new album. It's looking much better!

Furthermore, I've adapted my Music page so you can now get all of my music directly from my website for considerably less than elsewhere.

I'm a firm believer that digital music should be cheaper to buy than it is currently on most platforms, so I thought I'd start with my own shop.

The fees associated with selling on other platforms make it unviable or even impossible for me to sell at a price that doesn't give you room for pause.

This also gives me a platform to release site exclusive tracks and extras along with CD's, gig tickets, merch, the lot really. That's all in the pipeline anyway.
